danny and julie look so cute when they sleep

read this book!

thanks, Langer.
Owner of Cinemark gives $9,999 to Prop 8, and now stands to profit from ‘Milk'

"How many ways of wrong is this? CEO of Cinemark, Alan Stock, who gave $9999 to Yes on 8, be allowed to earn one dime on the back of Harvey Milk's legacy by running Gus Van Sant's “Milk” in his theaters (it opens wide on Nov. 26)?

If 1,000 of us commit to see MILK at a competitor's theater instead of Cinemark, at an average cost of $10 per ticket, that's $10,000 of lost revenue.

Boycotts work. A boycott of a Sacramento theatre company resulted not only in the resignation of a Yes on 8 contributor, but a public apology and donation to Human Rights Campaign! We can do this again.

The movie houses to avoid are “Century”, “CinéArts”, and “Tinseltown” theater chains."

boo hoo hoo

good news

the economy is still doing poorly, BUT...you can now buy pizza off your TV!!

TiVo subscribers can set up user names and passwords on Dominos.com, which will enable them to place orders through their TVs using only an account number. Alternatively, people can enter their delivery address and build their pizza by selecting type of crust, toppings, and sauces. The order is sent to a local Domino's, and the user pays when the pizza is delivered.

don't blow it chris.

world's worst hotel guest

SALVADOR DALÍ

To the staff of Le Meurice in Paris, where he was a frequent guest during his later years, Dalí's obsession with animals was a bit of a nuisance, to say the least. The father of surrealism, who died in 1989 at the age of 84, often brought two pet ocelots along to the pricey landmark, and the wildcats' tendency to use the walls and floors of the Suite Royal as a scratching post left the room in tatters. That's not all: He once demanded a horse be delivered to his room, and on another occasion ordered up a herd of sheep. Upon their arrival (yes, the hotel was that accommodating), Dalí shot at the little lambs with a gun containing blanks. He also had the hotel staff catch flies for him in the Tuileries garden, paying them per fly. But at least Dalí knew he was a difficult guest: He tipped his favorite staff each Christmas with autographed lithographs of his work, some of which could now be worth up to $12,000.

ricky

i took friday off so the weekend started early. it's all chris' fault, really. he made me drink a bottle of wine and then he went to bed so i had to just keep drinking and have a really good time up until about 11 when i went to bed. saturday was pretty rough, it took around 100 hours to get up to philly but it was totally worth it when sara fed us gourmet home cooked 5 course dinner. peter and the wolf killed it again, then disaster struck when we hit a deer on the way home. but everyone was fine, charlie turned into a survivor contestant and basically used tribal magic to fix wiley's car so we could drive home. no photos were taken so here is a re-creation of our trip:

b. ash inspired me:
grreat weekend, made veggie chili with my brother and sister at wiley's on friday. watched a documentary about 3rd graders in china (obviously). went to D.C. on saturday to the building museum and national gallery of art with Dad and Wiley. my dad was singing and dancing and a crazy old woman started singing and dancing and he told me that she is my new mom. then we met up with my cousin and drank beers at elephant & castle. back to annapolis to chug vodka sodas with sterling, chris, cameron, cameron's GF(!!!) sunday was mad hangover day, we ate pizza and watched Lost all day. i puked a lot of bloody mary's. so tight. monday boring. no work yesterday, hung out with my mom, went to annapolis, wiley and sterling helped me apply for a job. then we watched more Lost and drank more bloody's, ate some popcorn. the end. fine holiday fun.

oh baby

lunch report

a lot of strange things just happened. i was sitting at Dupont minding my own business when the loudest noise ever happened, it was like an explosion or a gunshot. i looked over and i saw smoke in the air near me. everyone was quiet and scared. the guy next to me asked, "what was that?" how the fuck should i know, guy??? then this girl slowly walked up to her bike and said that she thought her tire blew up and that was what made the noise. ok, so that's normal #1. after all that excitement, the guy next to me asked if i could "watch his lunch" while he went to go get a fork. uh, ok, sure guy. you are getting weirder by the second. his lunch looked bizarre too, by the way. normal #2. finally i get the fuck out of there, i'm walking back to my office and realize i'm walking behind my friend's dad (elana eisen-markowitz, i'm talking bout your father). so i walk behind him the whole way back to work down mass. ave. i haven't seen him in about 6 years, but sometimes old people just look the same way forever.

that's him. normal #3

these are my friends

jane lynch

let's all take a minute and recognize the great work of this actress. she's in everything good! apparently she's really funny in the new Paul Rudd movie Role Models. she's also in all the Christopher Guest movies (For Your Consideration, A Mighty Wind, and Best in Show...duh).
40 Year Old Virgin, Arrested Development (Cindi Lightballoon), even an episode of Desperate Housewives!! unbelievable. I applaud you Jane Lynch. basically she's just really weird.
